Overview
Biked was a design challenge set by a European tech company aiming to promote sustainable urban mobility. The project required deep desk research to understand cycling infrastructure, behavior and policy in European cities. The goal was to design a scalable solution that fit both existing cycling cultures and emerging bike-friendly cities.
Challenges & Solutions
Diverse Cycling Infrastructure → Researched best practices from cities like Amsterdam and Copenhagen to inform UX decisions.
Navigation & Safety → Designed a smart routing system factoring in bike lanes, traffic density, and real-time hazards.
Community Engagement → Integrated geo-tagging for real-time road conditions, creating a crowd-sourced safety network.
Behavioral Motivation → Introduced gamification (Biked Coins) to encourage daily cycling habits.
Scalability → Developed an adaptable framework for cities at different stages of cycling adoption.

Impact & Outcome
Proved Transferable UX Skills: Demonstrated the ability to apply design thinking across global markets.
Validated Research-Led UX: Showcased deep desk research on urban mobility and user needs.
Secured a European Role: Successfully landed the job, but COVID-19 lockdowns halted relocation for a year.
This project reinforced my ability to conduct global research, adapt to new markets and design solutions that scale across cultural contexts—a critical skill in today’s interconnected digital landscape.
